One of Austin’s Funkiest Streets Comes Alive with Live Music, Fine Southern Dining, and an Evening of Entertainment
Spend your Sunday afternoon exploring one of Austin’s most recognizable neighborhoods beginning with a walking tour of the iconic South Congress Avenue. Relive history as your local guide reveals the history, architecture, and quirks that make this street a favorite hangout for locals and tourists alike.
Pass time wandering the unique storefronts before an afternoon performance at the city’s most revered music venue, a place that has done more than its share to make Austin the “Live Music Capital of the World”.
If there’s one thing Austinites love more than music…well there’s nothing we love more than music. But a close second would be our food. Austin chefs have been making headlines in recent years and we are showing you Texas hospitality at its finest. Relish an elegant tasting menu served in a historic plantation home, complete with peacocks meandering through the grounds. Access ATX Exclusive: Meet the chef of Green Pastures restaurant before having a private tour of the beautiful home and grounds.
*Note: Due to availability, Green Pastures restaurant will not be available on all dates. Our restaurant of choice when this happens is the music lover’s paradise, Threadgill’s. The owner has been bringing acts to the stage since the 1970s, and his down home cooking and music memorabilia make for an exciting night out. You will not be disappointed.
As the sun sinks low, it’s time to hit the water to enjoy the performance of a lifetime.** Millions of bats take to the skies for their evening flight, making for a show that is uniquely, 100% Austin. Also a great time to capture photos of the downtown skyline.
**The Austin bats are wild animals, and their viewing cannot be guaranteed. The best time for bat viewing is April-October. Another very-Austin entertainment experience may be substituted for the cruise during inclement weather or off-season.
